Overview

Metamech LLC ("Metamech", "we", "us", "our") respects your privacy. This policy explains what data we collect, why, and how we protect it.

What We Collect

Account Information

When you purchase a product or create an account, we collect your email address. This is used for license delivery, product updates, and customer support.

When you ask for a sign-in code, we store a one-way keyed hash of your IP address to limit how many codes can be requested (rate limiting). It is not stored with your email address, and it is normally deleted within 48 hours.

Payment Information

Payments are processed by our merchant of record. We do not store credit card numbers or payment details on our servers. Our payment processor handles all financial data in compliance with PCI DSS standards.

Usage Data

Our website does not currently use analytics. We do not use third-party tracking scripts or advertising cookies.

If you sign up for our newsletter, we collect your email address. We store your email, subscription status, sign-up timestamp, and confirmation timestamp. We use a double opt-in process: when you sign up, we send a confirmation email. You remain unconfirmed until you click the confirmation link. Unconfirmed sign-ups are automatically deleted within 8 days of the last confirmation email we sent.

Upon confirmation, we send a welcome email containing an unsubscribe link. This link is unique to your subscription and is generated using cryptographic hashing (HMAC-SHA256).

When you unsubscribe, we delete your subscriber record from our database and tell Resend, our email provider, to mark your address unsubscribed, which stops further newsletters; Resend keeps your address on file, marked as unsubscribed.

We also store a one-way keyed hash of your IP address to prevent spam (rate limiting); it is normally deleted within 48 hours.

Your email is sent to Resend, our email delivery service, which handles sending newsletters on our behalf. Cloudflare Turnstile verifies you are human: it loads with any page that has the sign-up form, so your IP address is sent to Cloudflare as part of this check whether or not you sign up.

Contact Form

When you send us a message through the contact form, your name, email address, subject, and message are sent to our support inbox by Resend, our email delivery service. They are not stored in our website database. Your message stays in our support inbox so we can reply, and Resend keeps a copy of the message and delivery records under its own retention policy.

We also store a one-way keyed hash of your IP address to prevent spam (rate limiting); it is normally deleted within 48 hours.

Cloudflare Turnstile verifies you are human: it loads with the contact page, so your IP address is sent to Cloudflare as part of this check whether or not you send a message.

Product Data

Our products are designed to work offline. Data you create in our applications stays on your device unless you explicitly choose to share it.

Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal data. We share data only with service providers necessary to operate our business (website hosting, bot protection, payment processing, email delivery) and only to the extent required for those services.

Cloudflare hosts this website, so it sees your IP address on every request you make to it. It also runs Cloudflare Turnstile bot checks, which load with the pages that carry the newsletter sign-up and contact forms.

Data Retention

We retain your data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide services. You may request deletion of your data at any time by contacting support@steadynewt.com.

Cookies

We use essential cookies for authentication and session management. We do not use advertising or third-party tracking cookies.
